The first Aseer Tour started in 2017, proposed by Captain Mohammed bin Hussein, with assistance from Captain Ahmed Al-Khathami and notable participation from cyclists in the Eastern Province such as Captain Majid Al-Dosari, Saad Boujleaa, Rayan Al-Shabib, Abdulmajid Al-Shehab, and a group of champions from various regions of the Kingdom.
The idea came from the desire to showcase the heritage and tourist landmarks in the Aseer region and to enjoy the cool weather in the summer when most regions of the Kingdom experience intense heat. The tour includes a series of challenges unique to the Abha area, such as the heights of Al-Soudah, Al-Habla, and Saq Ghazal.
After each stage, a tourist tour is organized to introduce participants to the most prominent tourist spots and famous dishes that the southern region is known for.
Thanks to Allah and the efforts of our success partners and supporters of the Aseer Tour, such as the Wheels Foundation, we have been able to continue organizing this sporting event, which is considered an annual gathering for elite cyclists from inside and outside the Kingdom.
